We’re back again, diving headfirst into the colorful world of video content. Today’s dish? Serving up videos for different stages of your customer journey. Because let’s be honest, nobody wants the same meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, right?
The customer journey isn’t a hop, skip, and a jump. It’s more of a winding path, complete with scenic stops along the way. Each of these stages calls for a unique type of video content. That is what we will discuss in today’s Video Lion.
So, let’s take a look at the different stages of a customer’s journey and what type of video should you use for that stage:
1. Awareness Stage: Think of this as the “getting to know you” phase. It’s like your brand and your potential customer have locked eyes across a crowded room. They’re intrigued, but they don’t know much about you yet. Videos at this stage should be informative and entertaining, think explainer videos, branding videos, or educational content. Make a good first impression, but keep it light and breezy.
2. Consideration Stage: Okay, so now they’re interested, you have their attention. At this stage, your potential customer is considering whether your product or service is a good fit for them. You need to woo them a little. Product demos, how-to videos, and case studies work well here. Show off your product or service’s features, how it works, and the value it provides, and mainly, how you help your clients.
3. Decision Stage: It’s crunch time. Your potential customer is deciding whether to swipe right on your brand. They want to know they’re making the right choice. Videos at this stage should be reassuring and confidence-boosting. Customer video testimonials, detailed product or service reviews, and ‘day in the life’ type videos can work magic here.
4. Retention Stage: They’ve bought your product. Hurray! But don’t pop the champagne just yet. This is where you need to make them stick around. At this stage, they want to feel valued and understood. Think personalized thank you videos, user guide videos, and customer spotlight features. Make them feel like part of the family.
5. Advocacy Stage: This is the holy grail of the customer journey. They love your brand so much they can’t stop talking about it. They’re basically your brand ambassadors now. User-generated content, invitation videos for loyalty programs, and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage will solidify this bond.
Remember, different stages require different flavors of video content. But one thing remains constant – you’re always aiming to provide value. That’s your North Star in this journey.
Consider this as you’re creating video content: what does your customer need from you at each stage? If you can answer this question accurately, you’re good.
